A Tribute to his Life and Legacy
What a pleasure it was to have known you for over the past 20 years....
and to have served you in the most recent years.
You have changed our lives, the lives of our children, our community,
and the world. Thank you for giving to the Lord, we are truly lives that
were changed!

I have never met a more godly man than Pastor Billy Joe Daugherty!
I felt that every time I came in contact with him I was personally experiencing
the love of God. He was always so kind. I am honored to have been able to
have graduated from Victroy Christian School. The Word I was taught is the reason
I serve God today. He was truly a man of faith, love and vision and I am grateful to
have had the opportunity to know him.

What I will always remember about Pastor Billy Joe was his "realness."
He was a real man. The man you saw in the hallways was the same man
in the pulpit. When he and I walked the floors of Victory,
after all the workers were gone, we would discuss the construction progress.
As we walked through each room and floor, he always included in the conversation
what he saw that particular room or floor being used as. He talked about
his vision for the rooms and how he saw them full. He saw it full of children being cared for
by teachers and workers that loved them. He saw rooms full of teenagers in the
chapel that were learning God's Word, and the church full of people serving and being served.
As we walked and prayed over each classroom, office, meeting area, and hallway, he would
always repeat "in the name of Jesus." He was real. He believed his prayers were real .
He was genuine. Before Pastor Billy Joe went home to be with the Lord, everything he saw,
prayed for, and confessed during the construction phase has come to full fruition, Victory is full!
He made a great impact on me and I will never forget Pastor Billy Joe Daugherty.

Although I have worked on the project for a short time, two things that drew my attention were that
he had a tremedous heart for the lost and that he was a humble man. He truly lived what he preached.

Pastor Billy Joe was an incredible individual. He was never too busy to stop and talk to the workers,
not just the foreman but the guy sweeping the floor as well. He would take time to ask how they are doing,
not just as casual conversation, but to really take time to discuss thier personal problems and pray for them.
Most evenings we walked the job and talked about the issues at hand. He was always caring,
inspiring and encouraging. It was not only an honor to be a part of expanding his ministry, but an honor
just knowing the man behind the vision of Victory Chrisian Center.
